Frozen Mocha Hot Chocolate

I LOVE frozen hot chocolates!  I made this recipe for a group of women last year and they raved about it!  I used to get one similar at Dairy Queen when I was a kid and I wanted to duplicate the flavors.  (Note, the recipe below is not for the Frozen Mocha Hot Chocolate).

This morning when I woke up I realized that I was in the mood for something similar, but with coffee.  I drink coffee every day but not like this.  This is a frozen treat and after the Holiday Extravaganza last night I was in the mood for something festive.

Ingredients:

3 T hot chocolate mix
1/2 cup strong coffee
1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
2 T Andes candy pieces
1 heaping cup of ice

Directions:

Put all ingredients in a blender (I used a Vitamix) and blend until smooth.  Top with whipped cream, chocolate and more Andes pieces.

You can use chocolate chips, toffee bits, white chocolate chips, candy cane pieces or any other little candies for extra flavor.  We had a ton of candies left over from our hot chocolate bar last night. I love chocolate and mint especially during the Holidays so the Andes were perfect.  Next time I may try toffee pieces.  Mmm...

Want no dairy or less calories?

No dairy: Use canned coconut milk, sugar and unsweetened cocoa.
Low Calorie: Use unsweetened almond milk, cocoa powder and a no calorie sweetener like Pure Via.

I had a helper put Andes mints on the top.  He knows it's about the details.  Also, he got to lick his fingers.

He may have tasted it too.  He thought it was delicious, as did I.

'Tis the season!
